StringExtensionsQuoteUnwrap(String, Char) Method

Unwraps quotes similar to Excel. However, a little more predictable for unusual edge cases.

Definition

Namespace: Gemstone.StringExtensions
Assembly: Gemstone.Common (in Gemstone.Common.dll) Version: 1.0.128 -- Release Build+d050cfc5563c89a1188cc3c6b2d417530856f490
public static string QuoteUnwrap(
	this string? value,
	char quoteChar = '"'
)

Parameters

value  String
The string to process
quoteChar  Char  (Optional)
The quote char to use. Default is double quote. Due to trimming, quoteChar of whitespace is not allowed.

Return Value

String
The sent string with matched surrounding quotes removed.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type String. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).

Remarks

To remove all quote chars at beginning and end of a string regardless of match use .Trim('"') It's faster. Three consecutive quotes assures a singe quote char in output.
